REI: Winter Camping at Crater Lake - Oregon's only National Park

Presenters will discuss what to expect in the winter backcountry of Oregon's Crater Lake National Park. Topics covered: How to safely circumnavigate around Crater Lake. (Avoiding avalanche areas- with handout) How to register with Willamette Backcountry Ski Patrol. What maps and mapping apps work best. What route to take. We pulled a home made sled for gear and food, and carried backpacks for clothing. (Sled and other gear will be on hand for participants to see). And much more!.. lots of time for questions! Presentation offered by members of the Willamette Pass Backcountry Nordic Patrol.
WildCraft Ciderworks will donate $1 from every cider sold to the Willamette Backcountry Ski Patrol. Willamette Backcountry Ski Patrol is a group of volunteers that patrols the nordic trails of Willamette Pass on skis and snowshoes. They are always looking for volunteers!
